Roy from BracketsRus should look at their own customer services before criticising someone else's.

Hi Alex
If you need some complementary M5 screws or M6, please contact www.bracketsrus.co.uk by email and mention my name and we'll send some off to you.
But please be careful, if you do not know what you are doing then please get some professional help as the last thing you want is to damage your new TV.
If you've got a Samsung LCD TV under 36" then you'll probably need M5 screws to solve your problem.
Good luck and be careful
Regard

I have this exact problem right now... just bought a lovely TV stand and waited in all day for it to arrive. Put it all together and now the screws don't fit the holes in the back of the TV.

Now, I know nothing about screws. The ones I have I think are M5... and even they are just turning in the hole... should I get M6? Anyone know where I could get some in London?

What a mess...

Hi everybody.
This is Roy from www.Bracketsrus.co.uk
Samsung make great LCD TV's but their customer service is lacking somewhat.
Unfotunately, the safest option is to use M5 screws in the M4.5 screw holes.
There are a few problems with this method whereby you will be enlarging the holes permanently but this is the safest option so the bracket arms don't fall off in midair.

Samsung's suggestion of using their self tapping screws is not a good option in my opinion, as there is more chance of these falling off than M5 screws.
Self tapping is a good method for wood or plasterboard and other similar softer materials but this is mostly used when you only require a 1 time fixture, imagine trying to remove self tapping screws off a tin plate, the damage will be permanent.
Please also remember that this is not a car and the old fashioned tap and dye method may do more damage than good, bearing in mind that this is sofisticated piece of electronic equipment and not a Ford Capri MK1 3000GT with Twin Weber / Twin Chokes in Bright Yellow, ahhh those were the days.

I know what you mean I am on the recieving end and the whole issue is due to a confusion of metric and imperial I gather you had the delights of the customer care agents still given they do have a quota of calls to do each day and some of the people who call come from the shallow end of the gene pool still have you ever had a guy screaming at you for 15 minutes it does tend to make people defensive the real thing is that agents do know the situation just that the head office seems not to that's Korean Cheabols for you

I had a nightmare with the correct bracket for this screen. However I had this sorted recently. Check out www.tv-brackets.co.uk and they were helpful and they were helpful. They were the second company that helped me out and thank God they have the correct hardware.

Same problem, samsung have basically told me that the self tapping screw they provide is their solution and I can decide to use it or not.

I guess the only option is to change the thread to suit an m5 screw.

Does anyone know how to use a tap and die kit to do this?

Samsung Electronics UK customer services are absolutely awful. Fail to respond to e-mails. Fail to respond to Recorded Delivery letters. Really is not on.

Exactley the same problem. Been ringing Samsug Customer Services twicw a week for the last three weeks requesting when am I going to get the srews. My perception is that Samsung Customer Services UK, or even their Supply Chain are staffed by Assholes who haven't a CSE between them
