Peak District Path

Just a little way down the road from the Buxton Barn is this view over the Peak District.

Buxton Barn

This barn sits a little walk from the road between Congleton and Buxton. I took this shot as I noticed the lapwing (I think that’s what it was, thanks to Chris Packham on the TV tonight that identified it for me!) circling the barn.

Lightning

Had a fierce thunderstorm tonight so grabbed my tripod and managed to capture this out of the back window. Everything set to manual: 6sec f/22 ISO 100

Deer

After spending an afternoon clay pigeon shooting with my brother and a couple of friends, as we had packed up all the guns and were heading home, this Deer decided to wander through the front garden of the place we had been shooting at. Needless to say it was never in any danger had we had the guns to hand anyway. I’d much rather “shoot” creatures like this with my camera than any kind of weapon. A wonderful sight to end the day with and thankfully I had the right lens on the camera at the time. Such a shame I was shooting in to the sun and don’t have a hood for my EF-S 55-250mm lens or this on might have come out much better than it did.
