Nokia 6680 cover replacement guide

I’ve had my Nokia 6680 for a few months now and up until Wednesday of this week it remained in very good condition. I hate having scratched or knackered looking phones but alas, the obvious had to happen and, when exiting my car on Wednesday evening after work I catapulted my phone half way across the tarmac driveway and scratched it to hell. The casing was really badly scratched but not just scratches, no, that would be too little. There had to be big chunks missing aswell. Needless to say I wasn’t very happy about my misfortune. I knew it would mean I had to spend a few quid buying a new case for it.

I ordered one from Mobile Fun, along with a CR-27 holder for the 6680 as soon as I sat down at my computer. It arrived on Friday but after looking at my 6680 couldn’t see how to actually get the case off at all. I didn’t really want to take it to a shop to do it so I had a go myself. It all went without a major hitch so I thought I’d start over and re-document what I did to replace the cover for anyone wanting to change their case cover.

I’ve put all the instructions in to a PDF for easy viewing and printing. Hopefully the pictures are clear enough.

Faheem, looks like mobilefun are only doing the crappy copies that I don’t like now. A quick Google tells me that http://www.datakits.co.uk/ are selling genuine replacement housings. Anything less than £20 isn’t a genuine housing is pretty much the rule these days. Thanks for your comments :)
